Introduction
This collection began with a quiet commitment: to draw with ink each morning, before anything else.
Inspired by Matthew Wong’s daily painting ritual, Morning Ritual became my own kind of meditation, a space of stillness and instinct before the world wakes up.
At first, it was simply about consistency. But over time, it revealed something more personal: these drawings became a way for me to loosen up, not just technically, but emotionally. They’ve taught me to release the need for perfection, to embrace the mess, the fluidity, the honesty that comes when you don’t overthink the mark.
Each piece in this series is a kind of visual language, abstract expressions of thoughts, moods, and memories I don’t always have words for. Some feel soft and searching, others more assertive or restless. But all of them are immediate, unfiltered, and grounded in the present moment.
This is a body of work that continues to evolve. What began as a discipline has become a necessity, a space where instinct leads and the ink reveals what language often cannot.
